In an attempt to smoothen the process of schedule changes, the school approached the procedure differently this school year. Rather than receiving student schedules in late May, students picked them up on the first week of August.
“Instead of three months of changing schedules, hit it hard for one week,” Principal Mr. Matt Durst said. Durst notes his partiality with making students turn in their Emergency Medical Forms in exchange for their schedules.
School Counselor Mrs. Amber Gilsdorf said that she has had only 23 schedule changes for students in the first three days, whereas it has been roughly 90 in years’ past.
“[The new process] is more smooth for students, teachers and us here in the office,” Gilsdorf said.
As long as students continue to want more, schedule changes will always be a must at the high school.
