Around 100 cheerleaders in training had the opportunity to cheer with the high school cheer team at the football game on September 10th.

The varsity and JV cheerleaders said that they were ecstatic to have kindergarten through sixth grade join them on the track.

“The energy and spirit was better than ever,” JV cheer coach Sally Gummere said.

It was a way to connect the community of Granville, even through Covid.

“We were very lucky to have such a big turnout with our circumstances,” JV cheer coach Ashley Gotschalk said. She said that people were happy to hear that they could continue the tradition of kiddie camp.

The cheerleading program has used this camp as a fundraiser for many years.

“It is a great way to raise money that also shows how hard the cheer team works,” Gummere said.

The cheer team practices with the littles all week to get ready for the big game.

“We love getting to know the girls throughout the practice week,”  varsity cheerleader Sejal Sutlif said. “We have coached some of these girls throughout all four years of high school. The bonds that we have made with them are so special, and I believe that most will want to continue to cheer for the Blue Aces.”
