Due to the 2014 girls’ soccer team record, the team believes it is no surprise that they will peak this year with an amazing record. With many new editions and a few losses of players, the girls’ team has high expectations for how their year will go.
Junior Blythe Saxinger said team to play is Watkins Memorial.
“They have good competition each year we play them,” she said.
From team bonding to playing against different teams, the girls’ soccer team “loves being together as a family,” according to Saxinger.
“My favorite part of the season is team meal,” Saxinger said. “There is always such good food prepared for us and it’s a great bonding experience with the team.”
Saxinger also has said expectations are high.
“We only lost three seniors last year,” Saxinger said. “Not a huge setback for our team, and we gained good incoming players. Our team is determined for a state title and I don’t think we will settle for anything less. This season will be a good one to watch.”
Not only will it be an exciting season for the seniors, it will be an exciting season for the few freshman who are playing varsity. Freshman Katie Cox is starting on varsity, as well as Alyssa Christian. The varsity girls are excited for the upcoming season, with their next home game on Oct. 1.
