Top 10 ‘Friends’ episodes
While Phoebe goes to the doctors and gets inserted with embryos from her brother, Frank, and his wife Alice, the rest of the ‘Friends’ start a battle to determine which duo knows the other better. The stakes quickly rise and soon Joey and Chandler are betting the duck and chick while Rachel and Monica bet their apartment. After an intense trivia game, Joey and Chandler win and when Phoebe gets home she finds out she’s pregnant. Not only do we get an extremely funny episode, but we also get to know the characters on a deeper level. This being probably the most well-known episode, it had to be first on the list. Personally, I have a deep connection with this episode as it feels like they are a family and it gives me the most happiness.
As the watcher we get to see Monica and Chandler’s relationship progress but in the show, only Joey is aware of their connection. Rachel finds out quite a bit later but this is the episode where Phoebe sees them through the window of the Naked Man’s apartment, which Ross is interested in renting. With this realization, Phoebe and Rachel decide to mess with them. But then Chandler and Monica find out and it becomes a big back-and-forth mess. Known as one of the funniest episodes, and I can quote lots of lines, the list would be incomplete without it.
Chandler and Monica’s relationship progresses entirely on-screen and watchers become engrossed in their future. The miscommunications and intimate conversations in the episode make it even more sentimental than it would be. It was a changing point in the series and is always there when you need a good cry.
Filmed like a play with only one single set, this episode easily catches your attention. With the chair fight, stained dress, accidental voicemail, and dilemma of what to wear, this episode has no lack of iconic scenes. Watching it once just does not give it enough credit.
All of the Friends Thanksgiving episodes are of note and have interesting storylines. In my opinion, this one is the best. As the feud between Monica and Ross pits the friends against each other, just the idea of them playing football together is hard to comprehend. But it happens and it produces one of the best and most fun episodes of the series.
I don’t think there’s another episode in this whole show that just makes your mouth drop just as far. We see the aftermath of this tragic mistake along with the beginnings of Chandler and Monica’s relationship. This episode is shocking, heartwarming, and hilarious all in one.
This is the episode that everyone, including me, was waiting for. The one where Ross finds out Rachel likes him. This episode has you on the edge of your seat pulling you into this slow-burn relationship that will soon become one that spans 8 more seasons. Along with the beginning of their relationship, Chandler allows Monica to help him work out.
In this episode, we see the second breakup of Ross and Rachel due to a miscommunication over Rachel’s 18-page letter. Along with this we finally get to see Phoebe with a loving family member and the aftermath of a jellyfish sting. This episode takes you on a whirlwind of emotions. One of my favorite storylines is the jellyfish sting which is why this episode has to be on here.
In this episode, we have to distinctly different storylines going on. We have Ross teaching Rachel and Phoebe martial arts, Joey hiring and look alike, and Chandler and Monica’s homemade anniversary gifts. It all blends and mixes so well that you have to appreciate the connections. Not to mention some of my favorite iconic scenes.
This episode has one of the funniest yet relatable storylines of the whole show. Between Joey forgetting about a dinner with Phoebe and Rachel and Chandler stealing a cheesecake it is hard not to imagine yourself doing one of the two. This is a necessary episode to be on the list for me as I just love the storylines and friendship development that occur.
