Last week, Granville High School students and athletes continued to further their regular seasons. This most recent week of sports was once again a busy one for all Blue Ace athletes, especially with Prom being at the end of the week on Saturday.
Boys Lacrosse
Beginning with their first game of the week, the Boys Varsity Lacrosse team took on Columbus Academy on April 17 for the second matchup between the two teams this season. The Blue Aces got their revenge against the Vikings, winning 9-6.
Shortly after their game against Columbus Academy, the Boys Lacrosse team then traveled to Westerville South to take on the Wildcats on April 18. The Blue Aces took home the victory, winning 10-8.
Finishing off the long week, the Blue Aces faced Bowling Green on April 20, in a neutral game at Buckeye Valley. The Blue Aces won the battle 18-4. The win finishes their week off with a 3-0 record, and totals up the season record to 8-2. The team looks forward to their next matchup on April 22, where they will face rival Bishop Watterson in an away game for the Blue Aces.
Girls Lacrosse
Moving forward to the girls Varsity Lacrosse team, the Blue Aces played an away game on April 15 against rival Columbus Academy. The Blue Aces lost a tough game, 19-4.
The girls then took on Bexley in an away game on April 18, losing a 12-11 battle.
To finish off the week, the Blue Aces had a double header on April 20, where they played Oak Park-River Forest, losing 9-3, and Bay High School, where they lost 14-0. The girls look forward to facing off against Hilliard Bradley on 4/22.
Boys Baseball
The Boys Varsity Baseball team played Zanesville at home on April 15. The Blue Aces took home the victory, winning 12-2.
The boys then took on Licking Heights in an away game. The Blue Aces won the rivalry game by a score of 9-6. They will face off against the Hornets again on 4/22, this time at home.
Girls Softball
The Girls Varsity Softball team had 5 games this most recent week, taking home 4 total victories.
Beginning with the Zanesville game on April 15, the Blue Aces won by a 23-0 score.
Following the victory, they then played Johnstown on April 16. The Aces added another shutout win to their record, winning 11-0.
To finish off the week, the Blue Aces then had a double header at home against Pickerington Central. The Aces took home both games to add to their record as victories, shutting out the Tigers the first game 11-0, then following that game by winning 16-6.
The girls will look to revamp another long winning streak this next week, where they will take on Licking Heights on April 22.
