After Regina Benson retired from the French department, the district hired Miss Lauren Doll, straight out of college due to her outstanding credentials.
Doll, who has a B.A. in French linguistics and a B.S. in French education, graduated in 2024 from Miami Ohio, and was highly recommended by her high school French teacher.
“Miss Doll came very highly,” principal Scott Hinton said. “Her resume was very impressive.”
Doll will be teaching French 1,3,4 and AP French. And she also Plans on extending her relationships with students.
“I can connect with you guys differently than maybe another teacher whereas I just finished college, and some are just about to enter,” Doll said.
Doll believes that relationships and excitement are very important.
A student in her class Jackson Lough described her as “energetic and funny”.
Doll plans on continuing the French Club.
“School clubs are vital to class participation,” said Hinton.
She believes the first meeting will be in a few weeks after school starts and plans to continue with new and fun ideas and “enrich your experience of French.”
Although Doll is very passionate about French, she originally started with German but soon found out it was not for her, and she turned to French.
“[It was] the class I felt safe in high school,” said Doll.
Doll’s has a five-year goal for herself and her students.
“Grow class sizes, and students’ ability to connect French to their daily life,” she said.
