The BAM staff is celebrating 25 seniors from the Class of 2025! Starting May 1, we’ll highlight one randomly selected senior each day as we count down to graduation. The second senior is Madelyn Baumbach.
What has been the highlight of your senior year?
The highlight of my senior year was eating outside during the spring and fall, and getting to finally take all the classes I wanted.
What is your favorite memory of your time in high school?
My favorite memory would have to be spending time with my friends on the school-offered trip to Japan my junior year– I had such a great time seeing new things and places while having people I love around me!
What are your future plans?
I plan to attend Kansas State majoring in Biomedical Engineering in the Honors program.
What will you miss the most about high school?
I will most miss the free time that I get to spend with my friends and family, and the supportive and encouraging teachers I’ve had over the years.
What are you looking forward to after graduation?
I am looking forward to meeting new people and seeing new things- it will be nice to get out of Granville and experience the rest of the world
What was your favorite school lunch (alternatively, favorite thing you’ve brought)?
My favorite lunch this year has to be cucumber sushi rolls from Kroger and red velvet muffins
What Portrait of Graduate do you identify most with?
I most identify with Adaptable because I have to balance my schoolwork, my part-time job, and my at-home responsibilities — I feel like I am constantly changing and making plans.
What was your favorite class?
My favorite class was AP American Government and Politics; I loved the way Mr. Hopping taught.
What was your favorite class project?
My favorite project was in Mr. Baits Physics class Sophomore year when we wired a dollhouses lights with LEDs.
What advice would you give underclassmen?
I would tell underclassmen that their grades freshman and sophomore year matter a little more than they think in the long run, but also not to worry too much about it.
