The BAM staff is celebrating 25 seniors from the Class of 2025! Starting May 1, we’ll highlight one randomly selected senior each day as we count down to graduation. The eleventh senior is Gabrielle Hoenie.
What has been the highlight of your senior year?
I would definitely say having the opportunity to attend C-TEC and achieve my cosmetology license, along with a full-time job in a salon before graduation!
What is your favorite memory of your time in high school?
My favorite memory would be Latin class every day. Mr. Fisher would make the class so entertaining, and never failed to make everyone in the class laugh!
What are your future plans?
My future plans include working as a full-time hairstylist at one of the Penzone Salon + Spa locations in the Columbus area. I also plan to expand my knowledge in the hair industry!

The thing I will miss the most about high school is seeing all my friends every day!

What was your favorite school lunch (alternatively, favorite thing you’ve brought)?
My favorite school lunch is hands down the Stromboli. I never packed my lunch on those days!
What Portrait of Graduate competency do you identify most with?
I feel I identify with the “adaptable” section of the Portrait of Graduate competency. Attending C-TEC my junior year was a huge change for me, but I quickly learned how to the school functioned. If I failed at something, I fixed what I was doing wrong to see myself succeed.
What was your favorite class?
My favorite class was physics. Mr. Bait’s passion for teaching made the class so entertaining and easy to understand!
What was your favorite class project?
My favorite class project would be building a home in physics!
What advice would you give underclassmen?
My best advice is to keep pushing for success. You’re going to struggle in your underclassman years of high school, but you will feel so relieved your senior year when all your hard work is paid off!
