Entering the season, head coach Adam Teeters had an anxious look of worry and caution as his young team had to quickly turn into a group of grizzled veterans. And that’s what they have done.
“We’re young,” Teeters said early in the season. “We’re going to have a lot of learning to do out of the gate.” Now he preaches to a different tune of confidence after defeating Watkins Memorial for the LCL Championship.
“We do what we do,” said senior Drew Dilger, “and that’s just what we do.”
Dilger is a man of many words, as one can tell. Dilger has been a constant force for the Aces this season as he averages roughly 13 points per night and frets defenses across the league.
Now, the Aces have around two weeks to sharpen their act and prepare to face the hated Johnstown Johnnies on the Feb. 25 in the playoff tournament. This now veteran team is looking to go deep in the playoffs and prove the naysayers wrong.
