NBC Channel 4 broadcasted on Sept 30 from the gymnasium to capture the school’s excitement about the Homecoming festivities.
Monica Day showed up at 5:30 am to begin the broadcast along with the marching band and cheerleaders.
“We were just there to hang out and eat breakfast,” junior Jared Kitchen said.
The point of the broadcast was to build up the excitement over that night’s Homecoming football game against Utica.
“I think the music makes it more exciting… and makes everyone more pumped up,” junior Alexa Specht said.
In addition to the broadcast, a breakfast was served to reward all of the early risers.
“It was great. We had pancakes,” said junior Elise Davis.
The morning was an early one but that didn’t mean it wasn’t a good experience. Some turned the event into an opportunity for sleepover.
“I don’t know if I was more pleased with NBC or the fact that I got to spend the night with my friends on a school night,” Schwab said.
