Boys soccer inches closer to an LCL championship

BY CORTEZ YANNIE (’17)

As the whistle blew, Daniel Brnjic wasn’t thinking of breaking records or how many shots he wanted to save. His only thoughts were how he would win the game.

Unfortunately, as the final whistle blew Granville found themselves on the losing end of a  2 – 1 score against Watkins for the LCL championship.

“As the game went on, we found ourselves having good opportunities but were not able to execute them,” said senior captain Austin Rader.

The loss would not affect the team’s performance for the second half of the season according to Ryan Bergenau.

The game was lost, but the spirit of the team has never been better. The team will look forward to making a dent into the tournament and possibly make it to the finals.
