The time for the varsity basketball season is finally here. Tonight the boys’ basketball team will play the Licking Valley panthers at home to kick off their season.
“I believe we are well prepared for Friday’s game,” forward Peyton Ley said. “We have been working hard and we are ready to put the ball in the net.”
The starting lineup for the Granville basketball team is junior Alex Meurer at point guard, junior Drew Dilger at shooting guard, senior Austin Rush at small forward, senior Ben Alexander starting at power forward and senior Scott Herb at center.
“We have a few good senior leaders and the junior class is very talented. We just need some more experience,” Ley said. “Coach Teeters always leads us to victory with the help of Coach Bell.”
Ley predicts a victory for the Aces and believes the final score will be 55-12 Granville.
“We are the best there is. I believe we will win the LCL championship,” Ley said. “The Panthers are alright but in the end [the score will be] 55-12 maybe 13, if they’re lucky.”
Tonight the fan section will be celebrating “America Night,” so wear jean shorts and boots and support the team.
