Staying home over Spring Break might seem like the biggest tragedy in the world, but when you live in a town like Granville, it is anything but.

Being so close to Easton or Columbus opens the doorway to an endless supply of activities such as rock climbing in Columbus, shopping, or going out for a movie.

“I plan on going to Skyzone with some of my friends,” junior  AJ Peterson said. “I think it will be a lot of fun. It’s only an hour or so away, and the money is well worth it.”

Ohio holds many creative ideas for Spring Break.

CD 102.5, a local alternative radio station, is holding two concerts over break and all contain good bands. These artists include Cold War Kids, The Shelters, Mondo Cozmo, Local Natives, Declan McKenna, and Deap Vally. One is on March 25 and the other is on April 1. Both will be held at Express Live! in Columbus.

If one is looking for something outside of the city, camping is always a fun and easy option.

“My friends and I plan to set up a tent and camp for a few nights,” junior Annie Penland said. “One of the days we are going to drive up to a hiking spot and spend the day there. The only downside would be bad weather.”

Ohio can be unpredictable in the spring, but this does not mean that Spring Break will be ruined.

“If it’s cold and rainy, we are having a Harry Potter marathon,” Penland said.

According to the Apple Weather app, the beginning of Spring Break holds the promise of highs in the 50s.

“I really think you can make any situation fun depending on who you are with,” Penland said. “I honestly am super excited to be staying home with a good majority of my friends.”

Granville holds many quiet and perfect scenes for Spring Break. Restaurants like Snapshots and the Pub can be the perfect spot to hangout and have a good meal.

Just like any holiday, Spring Break is a time to sit back and relax.
“I cannot wait,” junior Mitch Meikle said. “I plan on making a lot of memories.”
