The high school sent a team of track and field athletes to compete in the OATCCC Indoor State Championship in Akron on March 4th. The team ran their way to excellent placements.
Senior Natalie Price set a new state record with a 7.55 in the 60m dash. She also won the 400m dash with a 54.94.
“The energy was so high and it was really exciting,” said Price.
Among the athletes were freshman Goldie Atte and seniors Noah Green and Natalie Price.
Goldie Atte ran the 4x200m relay with teammates Penny Hunter, Annika Green and Ciahnna Winston. The girls ran a 1:53.06 and came in 17th place.
“Going to states made me feel like I can do it. It really pushed me,” said Atte.
Senior Noah Green specializes in the pole vault event. Unfortunately Green was injured during the state meet and was unable to finish the way he wanted. Green’s personal record for this indoor season however, was an astonishing 13 feet.
