Anticipation for Spirit Week is arising

BY MAGGIE MCGONAGLE (’15)

Every year students get excited for Homecoming before the school year even starts. The drama about groups for the dance, getting a date and outfit plans cause stress throughout the school. Girls and boys alike get all dressed up to spend a night with friends for food and dancing.

Although students love the dance, the week before known as Spirit Week is also very exciting. This year the events occur as:

  • Bonfire & Parade- Monday, September 22
  • Pep Rally- Friday, September 26 (9 Period day)
  • Homecoming Dance- Saturday, September 27 (8 PM-11PM)

The theme this year is “Tis the Seasons at GHS.”

  • Seniors- Winter
  • Juniors- Summer
  • Sophomores- Fall
  • Freshmen- Spring

The Spirit Week Themes are:

  • Monday- Super Hero
  • Tuesday- Safari
  • Wednesday- Flashback
  • Thursday- Volley For The Cure Wear Pink!
  • Friday- Blue and White

This year has a different schedule with the bonfire and parade on Monday due to a Jewish holiday on Wednesday.

With students excited for one of the biggest weeks of the year, the school is bursting with excitement.
