Junior film enthusiast Sal Sturiano is directing and producing his own series, “The Max Files”, a story about a high school student and his friends going on wacky adventures and discovering who they are.
Sturiano has always loved film and has been acting for quite some time. He went to a film camp last summer and is ready to start production on his first series.
“A lot of people making media in any way often expect their work to be their magnum opus just right off the bat,” Sturiano said, “I have high expectations for myself, but I also view this as less of a project to show my my greatness and more of a project to learn that greatness.”

The series follows the characters Max Heigle, Owen Conner and Stevie A. as they go on paranormal adventures while navigating through teenage life.
“All these guys, as far as I can tell, we’re already the best of friends right off the bat, so great chemistry from the cast,” Sturiano said. “In the indie show they all share the same names as their real life counterparts, aside from Sam Hannig, whose name is Stevie A, That was a creative decision on my part.” Sal also went on to say, “Since they shared these names, they kind of share internally, their personalities.”
Sal has done almost everything there is to do in acting and indie film making. He was in Granville Drama for quite some time and made films for local festivals. Sal also famously does most of the school announcement videos.
“He really did some fantastic work with writing,” Sal’s drama teacher, Mrs. Rodocker said, “Any project that he could change and make his own, he turned into a film and did a fantastic job.”
The actors are always as important as the directors, and it’s no different here!
“Owen, Sam, and Morgan, three of my fellow classmates are very close friends of mine,” Max Holsberry, who plays the main character of the same name, said, “and Sal’s a fantastic director, every time we get together it’s just a jolly old time.”
Seems that everybody involved is dedicated to giving us an enjoyable TV series, so much talent in one show, complete with all the comedy a teen sitcom can have!
With that being said, watch The Max Files when it comes out on YouTube, maybe you might be in for a few surprises….
