When did you start pursuing art more seriously than just in a school environment?
I started pursuing art more around 6-7th grade

What motivates you to create art?
I like to create and it helps me express myself. It also helps me build up my future to explore art when I’m older.

What is your favorite medium or tool, and why?
My favorite medium is oil pastels. I love how well they apply to paper and layer upon one another. Plus I like that the “strokes” that they naturally create makes a beautiful sense of movement.

What are some themes you try to communicate to viewers in your art?
I really like to make my art colorful with lots of creative elements like spirals and lines to make a more unique aspect to it

What role do you think artists have in society?
I think artists, no matter for what element, help connect people with their art and help create a better sense of life.

What career in the artistic field do you hope to pursue?
I’m actually not sure. There’s so many things I want to do with my art but definitely something freelance because I want to be able to make what I want without someone telling me.

What would your advice be to new artists?
To keep practicing. I was bad at the beginning and I’m still not very great but there has been an astronomical amount of improvement since I started so you just have to keep trying.
