Boys’ basketball off to a great start

BY NIC MORK (’15)

The boys’ basketball team has started off their season in a great way in league play.  The league has taken a big step up in talent this year, with this year even the worst of teams can put up a good fight against some of the best teams.

The team is now 7-2 in league play, being led by a front court of big seniors.  The big three of Scott Herb, Austin Rush and Ben Alexander has been overpowering teams in the paint to get some big wins against league opponents.

In past weeks the Aces have had big wins most recently against Heath, with the trio of Herb, Rush and Alexander all scoring in the teens.  Although the boys team could not slow down the non-league opponent of the Walnut Ridge team which provided a good test for the Aces and showed them the type of teams they will face in the playoffs to come.
