Granville Sports Round-Up 10-30-17

Boys’ Cross Country: The team placed 14th at Regionals. Congratulations on a great season, and get ready to work hard this off-season!

Girls’ Cross Country: The team won out at Regionals and will take their talents to the State Championship Meet. They will run at 12:30 pm on Saturday, November 4th at the National Trails Raceway. Bring it home girls!

Football: The Granville football team beat Watkins Memorial in an offensive shootout, winning 52-42. The team clinched a playoff berth, receiving the #8 seed in Region 11. They will travel to Bellefontaine to take on the Chieftains, searching for the first playoff win in school history. The game begins at 7:30 pm on November 3rd.

Boys’ Soccer: The Granville boys soccer team took Columbus Academy to penalty kicks after a double overtime match. The team fell just short after a very courageous effort. Congratulations on a great season.

Girls’ Soccer: The girls team also took Big Walnut to penalty kicks after a stalemate in regulation as the score was 0-0. There was no scoring in overtime either, as Big Walnut prevailed in penalty kicks and outlasted the Aces.

Volleyball: The Granville girls volleyball team won in dramatic fashion against Highland. They won the first set, lost two straight sets, and finished with two straight set-wins to take home Districts. They will be playing in the Regional Semi-finals against New Philadelphia in hopes to continue their run to the State Finals.
