Sports recap: March 31 - April 6

Last week, Granville High School students and athletes returned to school after being on Spring Break. Although these athletes may have been tired from their vacations and stay-cations, this most recent week of sports was a busy one for all Blue Aces athletes.

Boys Lacrosse

Beginning with the first game of the week, the Boys Varsity Lacrosse team took on rival Columbus Academy on 4/4 at home, losing a close battle to the Vikings in a 14-12 shootout. They will play Johnstown in their next matchup in their first away game of the season.

Girls Lacrosse

Moving forward to Saturday, the girls Varsity Lacrosse team played against rival St. Francis DeSales. The Blue Aces lost a tough game, 20-8.

The girls then played the Newark Wildcats on 4/6. The score for this game has not been reported yet.

Boys Baseball

The Boys Varsity Baseball team played West Muskingum at home on 4/6. The Blue Aces took home the victory, winning 9-3. They will play Licking Valley next game at home once again, on 4/8.

Girls Softball

The Girls Varsity Softball team had 3 games this most recent week, and proceeded to shut out all 3 opponents.

Beginning with the Licking Heights game on 4/5, the Blue Aces rolled past the Hornets by a 10-0 score.

The day after, on 4/6, the girls had a double header, beginning with playing Buckeye Valley. The Aces got another shutout, this time winning 12-0.

On the same day, the girls then played Pleasant, and proceeded to finish the busy week off with yet another shutout, winning 7-0.

The girls will look to continue their winning streak against Licking Valley on 4/8.

Outdoor Track & Field

On 4/4, the Granville Outdoor Track & Field team completed in the Dick Houston relays, taking home awards and trophies after a long day.

On 4/6, the team went to the Lexington Invitational, competing all day yet again, but still making their mark and bringing home awards.

While this week for Granville High School athletics as a whole was pretty busy, the Blue Aces got it down across all boards and made their marks. Each team looks forward to their upcoming matchups, home and away, looking to continue paving their own paths.
