The drama club recently announced that it will be performing “Puffs,” “Little Women” and “Chicago: Teen Edition” in the 2022-23 season.

In the mix of comedy shows, “Little Women” stands out as a highly anticipated play for the club.

“I’m really excited to do a serious show,” sophomore Sophia Shinka said.

“We are doing three somewhat known plays, which is exciting.” Drama teacher Sara Rodocker said.

.

The students spend many hours practicing every weekday after school when the performance gets closer.

However, Shinka explained that all the time spent is needed because “It’s a real-life show, not just a class.”

Last year when the musical “Cinderella” took the stage, many people showed their support by filling the auditorium seats.

“It was a good year to bring us into this one,” Rodocker said.

An audition workshop was held in mid-September. Rodocker explains that around 25 people came to show their ability to perform.

“Seeing all the new talent is always a really exciting thing,” Rodocker said.

The drama department plans for a great season to keep the success from last year rolling. With exciting shows planned and new talent, this is definitely achievable.

“I am really excited because drama is all about being inclusive and showing everyone your talents,” Shinka said.
